Justin Timberlake reveals he has Lyme disease: "It's been exhausting"
The singer has made it public through his official Instagram account.

Justin Timberlake suffers from Lyme disease. He made it public with a post on Instagram where he details that, lately, he has been battling health issues, specifically with this disease: "If you have suffered from this disease or know someone who has, then you know that living with it can be very debilitating, both mentally and physically. When I received the diagnosis, I was shocked," explains the artist. This is a situation he experienced backstage during his latest world tour.
Timberlake, 43, has thus closed out two years of touring that he describes as "incredible," where he has only performed once in Spain, at the Icónica Santalucía Sevilla Fest festival. In the post, he also specifies that he has been affected by the impact of the disease during his time on stage in recent months. The singer describes the experience as the most "physically demanding and exhausting of his life": "I've been dedicated to music for over 30 years, and I've dedicated myself to it body and soul. I couldn't have done it without my family, friends, and all their support," he says gratefully.
What is Lyme disease?
It is an infectious disease that can be transmitted through a tick bite. According to the official website of the Catalan Government's Health Channel, and that the initial bite usually causes only a small skin lesion,The insect can inoculate a bacterium—if the insect is a carrier—into the patient's bloodstream, which is responsible for the disease. People infected with the bacterium experience the onset of symptoms weeks or months after the bite, which appear gradually and progressively. They affect different organs and tissues and are not directly related to the disease, but rather linked to an "exaggerated immune response" to the infection. Long-term symptoms can lead to chronic arthritis, more serious neurological problems (such as cognitive impairment), and further complications.
