A few months ago, Aston Martin stunned everyone with the presentation of the Valhalla, a two-seater sports car with a mid-engine and plug-in hybrid mechanics that now introduces its convertible or Spider version. The Aston Martin Valhalla Spider is a superlative car in every aspect: an excessive power of 1,079 horsepower thanks to a V8 mid-gasoline engine and three auxiliary electric motors, a top speed of 350 km/h (although when open-top it can only reach 200 km/h for safety reasons) and a price to be confirmed, but which will far exceed the million euros that the coupe version from which it is derived costs.

In short, the Valhalla Spider can be considered a work of art on wheels. The evocative and attractive bodywork of the model from which it derives is emphasized by this body with a black canvas roof that can be easily removed, and which allows you to enjoy the power and speed of the car in the open air. Customers who prefer it also have the option of choosing a removable carbon fiber roof to replace the textile roof. The architecture and design of the body have been modified with a new deflector that improves wind flow and ensures that no turbulence is felt inside the cabin when the Valhalla Spider is driving at high speed. The front air intakes have also been modified to favor aerodynamics and comfort inside the vehicle.

Regarding the mechanics, this Valhalla Spider maintains the four-liter V8 engine in a central position (that is, just behind the driver and their passenger) associated with three small auxiliary electric motors that allow it to reach a power of 1,079 hp and 1,110 Nm of torque. This convertible sports car uses lightweight materials such as carbon fiber both for the vehicle's seats and for various chassis elements, thanks to the transfer of knowledge from the Aston Martin Performance Technologies team, which is in charge of the sports division that currently competes in Formula 1.

At this point, it is pertinent to ask what a 1,079 hp carbon fiber convertible with a specific preparation by Aston Martin's sports division is for. The answer is as simple as it is blunt: for nothing. This Valhalla Spider will be a collector's item reserved for a few millionaires who will use it to cruise along the seafront of Saint-Tropez, Puerto Banús, or Monaco at low speed and without exploring the car's real potential. And what is the point of a sports car capable of traveling at 200 km/h without a roof if it is never going to reach that speed in the vacation spots of the super-rich? For Aston Martin, however, this convertible represents an extraordinary source of income, as it expects to sell more units of the Spider version than of the conventional hard-top variant.

It will still be necessary to wait until the third quarter of 2027 –coinciding with the arrival of summer in the northern hemisphere– to see the first production units of the Valhalla Spider. However, Aston Martin will not manufacture many units of this vehicle, intended for super-rich individuals who will be able to pay more than one million euros for one of the few units that the British brand will manufacture in an almost artisanal way.
