Indra and Escribano strengthen themselves after the divorce

BonÀrea changes president and Uriach will continue at the Orfeó Català-Palau de la Música

After Ángel Escribano left the presidency of Indra and his family exited the capital of the company now chaired by Àngel Simón, both Indra itself and EM&M, of the Escribanos, are strengthening their respective top management. Another notable change of the week is Ramon Alsina's promotion to the presidency of BonÀrea, replacing his father, Jaume Alsina.

Ciril Rozman

Joins Indra

Àngel Simón, non-executive chairman of Indra, has hired Ciril Rozman, who joins as director of the presidency office and public affairs of the technology and defense company, as the company reported in a statement. Rozman is one of Simón's most trusted men, with whom he worked at both Agbar and Criteria. In fact, at Criteria he held the general management of operations at a time when La Caixa's holding, chaired by Isidre Fainé, once again bet on investments: ACS, Puig and Telefónica were, just, some examples.

At the same time, the company has announced the promotion of Jesús Presa, until now director of marketing, brand management and internal communication, to head of corporate communication for the company and, therefore, responsible for steering all areas. Presa joined Indra in 2023 alongside the CEO and chief executive of the company, José Vicente de los Mozos –he is a man he trusts–, with whom he coincided at Renault.

On the other hand, Aleix Sanmartín is no longer at Indra, who, despite working for the PSOE for a time, ended up signing for Alberto Núñez Feijóo's PP as an analyst – he is considered a communication guru. This expert in electoral campaigns joined Indra in September 2025, hired by Ángel Escribano so that, as a consultant, he would try to smooth the path of the integration, currently stalled, between Indra and the Escribano group.

Antonio Gómez Ciria and Purificación Torreblanca

New advisors of Escribano

Escribano Mechanical & Engineering (EM&E) has incorporated Antonio Gómez Ciria and Purificación Torreblanca as independent directors to its board, according to the Official Gazette of the Mercantile Registry (Borme). Gómez Ciria is part of the boards of directors of Mapfre and Redeia and was also on the highest decision-making body of Hispasat, a company that now belongs to Indra, with which EM&E was negotiating a merger and in which the Escribano brothers (Ángel and Javier) owned 14.3%.

from his father, the founder of the company, Jaume AlsinaAccording to company sources, this is the first time EM&E has had more than one independent director on its board.

Ramon Alsina

Presidirà BonÀrea

BonÀrea Corporació has completed the transition of its board of directors. On May 28, the board of directors of the large consumer chain will vote on the appointment of the current CEO, Ramon Alsina, as chairman. Alsina will take over from his father, the company's founder, Jaume Alsina. This was decided on Thursday by the general meeting of shareholders, which also granted honorary chairmanship to the outgoing chairman.

With this decision, Jaume Alsina will put an end to a tenure that has lasted more than six decades, and which has brought the group from Guissona (Segarra) to a record turnover of more than 2,800 million euros in 2025. According to a statement, the handover is part of the beginning of a "new institutional stage".

Joaquim Uriach

He will continue as president of the Orfeó Català and the Palau de la Música

after the statutes were modified in 2024In accordance with the statutes, and given that there has only been one candidacy – and that it has been submitted with all conditions and endorsed by the signatures of 209 members of the Orfeó Català –, the electoral day scheduled for June 9 is canceled and the candidacy led by Uriach becomes the winner of the elections.

Josep Sánchez Llibre

Will continue at the helm of Foment del Treball

The assembly of the employers' association Foment del Treball will proclaim Josep Sánchez Llibre as president this Monday. Thus, Sánchez Llibre will continue for a third four-year term at the head of the Catalan employers' association. Sánchez Llibre has collected 300 endorsements out of the minimum 50, representing around 1,800 votes, two-thirds of those in the general assembly. This will allow him to preside over Foment del Treball until 2030. The elections, which were supposed to be in July, have been brought forward to May 18. Since there is no other candidacy, the general assembly will be able to proclaim him president on the same day.

This third term for Sánchez Llibre is possible after the statutes were modified in 2024
