If, given the current state of the country, they don't approve a budget, they might back down.

If, under these conditions, the PSC, Esquerra, and Comuns are unable to reach an agreement to approve a Generalitat budget that makes it easier to address these kinds of demands for professional and labor improvements for teachers, they might as well give up, given the state of the country. The fact is, we are structurally underfunded, and that's why the state of public services is so precarious.

The wind has paralyzed much of the country's activity..

This is a photo I took at 8:30 this morning in the lobby of the Universidad metro station, which, as you can see, was empty. In the train car, there seemed to be exactly 70% fewer passengers than on a typical weekday at the same time.

The government alerted us all yesterday because the precautionary principle prevails, especially after the devastating storm in the Valencian Community and the irresponsibility of the Mazón government, which refused to warn anyone and only issued a warning after most of the victims had already died. However, a country brought to a standstill by the wind, already half-paralyzed by the trains and the AP-7 highway, is like one of those lingering nightmares where the protagonist's situation gets progressively worse.

The teachers' strike, with thousands of teachers in the streets, was a resounding success in terms of turnout.

Meanwhile, in Congress, Rufián and Nogueras debated the commuter rail service in these terms:

"In Catalonia there are 3 or 4 things that everyone knows. The first is that the German film on La 1 will have a happy ending, the second is that in the Antena 3 film the nanny is the villain, the third is that there will always be a penalty kick at the end for Real Madrid, and the fourth is that Cercanías is Cercanías. Minister."

"Mr. Rufián has previously said that Renfe is rubbish. And we agree. And that's why we understand even less why you, Esquerra, have renounced the full transfer and negotiated a mixed company, in which Renfe remains the operator and the Spanish government retains power. Perhaps no one has explained this to Mr. Rufián, and no one has explained it to Mr. Rufián, and it remains rubbish."

And some news that, although expected, is no less important:

The Public Prosecutor's Office and the State Attorney's Office have asked the Constitutional Court to grant amnesty to Carles Puigdemont. In their written submissions, they argue that the Supreme Court, which refused to grant him amnesty, made an "unreasonable" and "arbitrary" interpretation of the law, because there is no evidence of Puigdemont's personal financial gain. The prosecution maintains that it is "illogical" to compare the October 1st referendum with private expenses—such as those for a wedding. The submissions criticize the continued existence of the arrest warrants, arguing that this violates Puigdemont's right to political representation. Now, all that remains is for the Court of Justice of the European Union (CJEU) to rule that the amnesty is in accordance with European law, something that will likely happen soon. Then, the Constitutional Court will rule that the Supreme Court violated the rights of Puigdemont or Junqueras, and the Supreme Court will have no choice but to lift the arrest warrants. This is what should happen in the coming months.

Good morning.
