Antoni Bassas' analysis: "The PP will vote on protecting the Spanish national teams."

They've agreed that the "non-negotiable requirements for reaching an agreement are the defense of the State, the nation, and the constitutional order." And the protection of Spanish national sports teams. It's curious, because Spain has the upper hand, yet it always suffers the existential anguish of dissolution, to the point that they now have to emphasize that they will protect the national teams.

This weekend, we'll only hear about the PSOE and the PP. Both parties are meeting. Ultimately, they're meeting for the same reason: to give their leader one last chance. The Socialists are holding a federal committee to make internal changes that demonstrate that Pedro Sánchez has reacted to the atomic bombshell of the corruption charges against Ábalos and Cerdán. And the PP is holding its last-chance congress in Feijóo: if it doesn't win the next elections, it can return to Galicia.

What we learned this morning from the changes in the PSOE They are starting by appointing a new organization secretary to replace Cerdán. It will be Rebeca Torró, from Valencia, currently Secretary of State for Industry under Minister Jordi Hereu. She was Minister of Territorial Policy in Ximo Puig's last year in office at the Valencian Government. A woman, because after the conversations about prostitutes we heard between Koldo and Ábalos, it's a way of returning to the "I'm a feminist because I'm a socialist" sentiment. This isn't new: when Dominique Strauss-Kahn fell at the International Monetary Fund due to his extensive history of sex addiction, they immediately appointed Christine Lagarde to replace him.

Not only have they chosen a woman as the new number 3, but Rebeca Torró has been given three deputies in the organization, demonstrating the increased internal controls. Sánchez still refuses to give up, and this weekend the PSOE will seek to sell an image of penitence, a commitment to change, and a victory despite the polls being against him.

AND The PP congress is now or never for FeijóoThis is the knife-in-the-mouth congress to defeat Sánchez. That's why they've appointed Miguel Tellado as the party's general secretary. Badalona Mayor Xavier García Albiol will preside over this weekend's congress, and Dolors Montserrat will continue on the executive branch.

Look, the PP is ahead in the polls, but that's not enough for it to govern; it's not enough to win. It has to win an absolute majority, because if it depends on Vox, the other parties won't support it. And the polls show that the PSOE's problems are driving higher voting intentions for Vox than for the PP.

If we look at the Spanish political map, there are only two groups that could form a pact with the PP: the PNV and Junts. It's impossible now, but it was possible before. And they've agreed that the "defense of the state, the nation, and the constitutional order" will be essential requirements for forming a pact. They will protect the national teams.

The PP has therefore said that they must "go all out," and that "next time will be the charm." Because if not, Feijóo will be out on the street.

Good morning.
