Wind and some showers to leave the heat peak behind
The tramontana and mistral winds will strengthen at both ends of the country.

BarcelonaThe weekend began with temperatures reminiscent of late summer, despite being just a few weeks before the Chestnut Festival, a few degrees above what would be expected at the beginning of October (you'll find some of the most notable temperature records at the end of this report). The Indian summer of Sant Miquel arrived a few days late, but it has arrived. However, it won't last long, because on Sunday, a cold front will usher in temperatures to normal and the formation of some showers in parts of the coast and the northeast.
Sunday: change of weather
The passage of a moderately active cold front will bring about some changes. Between nighttime and early Sunday morning, there will be a few scattered showers or drops, especially in parts of the northern half. During the morning, there will still be some scattered showers in the Girona region and on the Barcelona coast and pre-coast, where clouds will be fairly present until at least the early afternoon.
However, the sun will dominate southwards and inland, especially in the west. This change in the weather will bring mistral winds in the south and tramontana winds in the Empordà region, where there will be gusts that could occasionally exceed 90 km/h or 100 km/h, altering the maritime situation along the Costa Brava. All of this will significantly lower temperatures, and the atmosphere will be markedly cooler after Saturday's peak heat. The temperature drop will be most pronounced in the Pyrenees, where the mercury will drop by between 7 and 10°C.
Monday: cloudy intervals
The week will start with fairly stable and calm weather, with no risk of precipitation, but still with some coastal cloud cover and a few harmless afternoon clouds. Overall, sunny conditions will prevail, and the wind will weaken after strengthening on Sunday.
The minimum temperature will drop slightly, but the maximum temperature will either be stable or rise slightly, with values typical for this time of year.

Possible rain during the second half of the week
Maps indicate that atmospheric instability could become evident again between Wednesday and Friday of next week, when there will be an increased risk of precipitation and a possible episode of widespread and heavy rain in some regions. The situation will change considerably because there are still many days to go, but it will need to be monitored closely.

Warm Peak Balance
Temperatures rose even further this Saturday, with many highs above 30°C in Ponent and inland in the Ebro Valley. Noteworthy among these were 32.6°C in Benissanet (Ribera de Ebro), 32.2°C in Vinebre (Ribera de Ebro), 31.6°C in Seròs (Segrià), and 31.3°C in Masroig (Priorat).
