The first significant heatwave of the year has left temperatures more typical of midsummer than late May. Coinciding with the second Pasqua (Pentecost) long weekend in Barcelona and the metropolitan area, the good weather and summery atmosphere have filled the beaches with umbrellas and towels on the sand.
