Perhaps almost all Hollywood romantic comedies are fantasy films, but a point of interest in the good-witch tragicomedy Practical Magic was the use of purely fantastical elements to metaphorically address traumas such as the fear of the death of a loved one. The late sequel Practical Magic 2 is one of those works that make no sense on their own. And it falls into dynamics similar to those observed in The Devil Wears Prada 2: the characters have not evolved and, furthermore, they relive the dilemmas of the previous work as if they were new. In parallel, the protagonists carry out a fairly generic mission. Their first adventure, a bit strange, included a criminal plot that complicated (and enriched, or made less predictable) the narrative journey. This time everything is more comfortable and timid.

Three years after the death of her partner due to amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), American actress Sandra Bullock has broken her silence on what it has meant for her to live with this disease and, finally, to lose her life partner, photographer Bryan Randall. In a conversation on the podcast Smartless, hosted by fellow actors Jason Bateman, Sean Hayes, and Will Arnett, Bullock explained that her partner explicitly asked her not to make the illness public. "I wasn't allowed to talk about it. That's what he asked of me, and that's what I did," recalls the Oscar winner for The Blind Side (2009). Although she assures that she understands Randall's request, she admits that having to carry the diagnosis in silence isolated her, especially during the covid pandemic, when she had to be particularly attentive to her children, Louis and Laila.
