Anthony Gordon explains that when he was three years old he already knew he wanted to play for Barça. He watched the Catalan club's matches on television and when it was time to choose a team in video games, he did not hesitate. He would bet on Barça, the club he dreamed of playing for, convinced that his destiny was written. And in this case, he was right. Even though his family were Liverpool fans, little Anthony had more in common with Guardiola, Iniesta or Xavi when he played, than with Steven Gerrard, his idol. And in fact, as has happened to many midfielders trained at La Masia, Gordon was also told that he was too small a boy. Too short and thin. He didn't have the body and energy of Steven Gerrard. So the Liverpool Academy closed its door to him. Initially, they didn't want him at Everton either, although that club realized their mistake shortly after and brought him back, making him debut in the First Division. At Liverpool, on the other hand, they didn't realize Gordon's potential until recently, when he was already playing in the Champions League with Newcastle. It was already too late.

"Toni Gros is one of us". This is one of the messages that Barça shared on its social media for the Diada. It refers to Anthony Gordon, the English winger who has amazed Hansi Flick and all of Barcelona with only a handful of months in Barcelona. Already at his presentation, at the end of May, Gordon dared to say "I am very happy" in Catalan while signing some autographs for the fans who were asking him for goals. For the moment, the goals are still awaited, but he has already provided four assists in five matches, all four in La Liga, and has earned the affection of a good part of the fans, who chanted his name at the Camp Nou after the 5-2 thrashing against Rayo Vallecano a couple of matchdays ago.

Raphael Dias Belloli, Raphinha, is injured again. In the midst of debate about his immediate future at Barça, the Culer attacker fell in the second match the Brazilian national team played in the World Cup. Same problem, same muscle. In the 40th minute of the duel against Haiti (3-0), he felt a twinge in his right thigh and had to ask to be substituted. There is a tear in the hamstring fibers and he will hardly play again in this championship, although the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF) will keep him called up in case they can recover him for the playoffs. It is terrible news for the canarinha and also for a footballer exposed to the benefits of petrodollars.

Anthony Gordon is the first signing for Barça for the third season with Hansi Flick. The 25-year-old English international footballer has reached an agreement with the Catalan club. This week, the Barça sporting director, Deco, has been in England negotiating with Newcastle United. The agreement between the three parties is now a fact and the footballer will sign his contract with Barça this Friday at 13:00 in the office of interim president Rafael Yuste. Afterwards, he will be presented at a press conference.
