The Popular Party has a closet full of flags that it brings out into public debate as it finds they can be useful. It parades them, surrounds them with noise, forces false disjunctions and equally false debates with them, and then brings out the next one. It doesn't matter if it's immigration, Catalonia and the Catalan language, the territorial organization of the State, the fight against corruption, the various negations it carries with it, or the defense of what it calls the family unit. It all consists of managing to parade a flag, or several flags simultaneously, and making a racket.Now we are talking about the unborn conceived, a grotesque concept that aims for a fetus to be another member of the aforementioned family unit. In this case, the flag comes from the looms of Ayuso and Miguel Ángel Rodríguez, experts in victorious flags, who have already legislated on the matter in the Assembly of Madrid (what an ironic name, Assembly of Madrid). Vox also wants to dispute it, this flag, because it suits them very well: after all, anti-abortionism and the denial of women's reproductive rights occupy a prominent place in the fascist/neo-Francoist ideology they promote from Abascal's party. There is also a component of stale sexism and patriarchalism: the creature begins to exist from the moment the father impregnates the lucky mother, or perhaps already when the father unzips his fly. As if all this were not enough, it is a discourse that is also supported by the MAGA movement and Trumpism. Thus, the unborn conceived is a finding that is in tune with the spirit of the times and deserves the nihil obstat of the new fundamentalism. Oil in a crucible.The idea of counting an embryo as a family member, besides being macabre and aberrant, is also very accurate. A few weeks ago, at the proposal of Vox, the unborn concept was discussed in the Balearic Parliament – a avant-garde chamber, since it is presided over by an far-right hothead with the support of the PP – and it was already seen that the idea is so good that they should also include dead relatives within the family unit. Thus we would have the unborn concept and the deceased already buried: all together they would form an ideal and very complete family unit.It goes without saying that the law approved in the Community of Madrid under Ayuso's absolute majority, and which Feijóo promises to introduce into a state-wide law if he governs, represents an alarming regression in rights and freedoms. It also raises questions: how does the unborn conceptus reconcile with Vox's national priority? And with Aznar's national majority? More specifically: is an immigrant embryo a member of a family unit? And if so, does this family unit, which counts its fetuses, deserve to be part of the national majority and, therefore, receive privileges reserved for citizens of national priority? Vox has already answered no. Or perhaps someone doubted that, among embryos, there are also first and second class ones? The problem with parading so many flags at once is that they trip over each other and everything.

1. Juanma Moreno Bonilla said he did not want to repeat as president of Andalusia if Vox had to be in the government. In the end, like so many other autonomous communities where the Popular Party won but fell short, Andalusia will also have a coalition government of the right with the far-right. Moreno Bonilla, against his better judgment, has swallowed his principles and had to give in. He has ended up accepting Abascal's positions and now has a vice-president from Vox in his government who corrects him before the investiture. “And what you'll get, my dear”, as they would say in Seville, in another popular expression that must already be close to some red flag.

First, the president of Extremadura, María Guardiola, had to go through Vox's address book, despite the difficulties; then it was the turn of Jorge Azcón's Aragon and Alfonso Fernández Mañueco's Castilla y León. But the greatest exponent of the PP moderates, the Andalusian president, the "Sorayist Juanma Moreno Bonilla, who will also yield to Vox's demands, as he himself has admitted and as the state leadership wants. The agreement is being finalized, but the only doubt remaining is the timing, that is, whether he will capitulate for this Thursday's investiture session or postpone it further, playing hard to get for public opinion. In any case, according to sources familiar with the negotiations between the PP and Vox consulted by ARA, the dilemma was clear from the start: "Either you accept the conditions or elections," said the Vox negotiating team.

There is broad institutional and academic agreement that among the main objectives of a fair healthcare system, the concept of equity must be included; that equity, in the field of health, means that people with the same health needs should have the same access to healthcare, and that, on the contrary, people with different health needs, with inequalities, should have unequal access to healthcare, which is nothing more than the application of the Marxist concept of “to each according to their needs”. This is the meaning of the current vision of public health: health policies should not be limited to treating diseases, but should also reduce the social inequalities that generate them. And associated with this vision, the idea of justice.

Pope Leo XIV delivered this Monday in the Congress of Deputies a speech that contains the main message of his visit to Spain, where, as a reminder, in addition to Madrid and Catalonia, he plans to visit the Canary Islands. This message has to do with the drama of immigration and how governments and societies manage it, and it is based on a fundamental principle: the defense of human dignity. "Many men, women, and children are forced, by circumstances often dramatic, to abandon their communities and leave behind their loved ones, stories, and ties. This reality transcends any purely demographic or economic reading: it constitutes an eminently moral and legal issue. Wherever a person is discriminated against because of their national, ethnic, religious, or linguistic origin, or because of their economic or social status, the universal principle of the equal dignity of all human beings is gravely violated," stated the Holy Father.

Killing children is not easy; one must know how. In abstract terms, extermination proclamations of an entire people can be made, as Netanyahu or other genocidal leaders do, but the truth is that this job –annihilating creatures– cannot be done by just anyone. Who will go door to door, when the extermination of an entire race is decreed, to finish off all the children living there? Who will be able to pull the trigger or drop a bomb, who will aim with a squinted eye directly at the head of a child who barely stands a few feet tall? Who will plunge a knife into tender flesh and endure the sharp, horrifying screams? Very few people, in fact, could carry out the worst of acts, the most fatal and terrible: ending the life of a defenseless sprout. That is why soldiers must be trained to dehumanize the other in a process that is two-way. Because it is impossible to see “the enemy” in a creature if one has not suffered a significant erosion of one’s own humanity.

The slow but sure capitulation of the PP to Vox has found an anchor point in the principle of national priority, the banner of ongoing negotiations and an alibi for neo-authoritarian shortcomings. The right wing has always operated on the simplistic logic of good guys and bad guys, of "us" and

Alberto Núñez Feijóo has opened a rift in his own party with the adoption of the principle of "national priority", an emblem of the far-right Le Penist movement that has been spreading across the rest of Europe, but which the PP had never embraced. What's more, it had vehemently rejected it.

The agreements between PP and Vox in Extremadura and Aragon have had a "box or fence" that was not only about management, but above all about ideological war. On paper, Vox has won it with the achievement for the first time of "national priority" in "aid, subsidies, and public benefits" – in both regions. As ARA has been able to learn, Vox approached the negotiations as a key scenario for the cultural battle a year before the Spanish elections, with two essential axes: immigration based on the slogan "first those from home"; and deregulation, the chainsaw of the Argentine Javier Milei. National priority has been an agreed element as a prelude to new offensives: "It is the Overton window," say consulted Vox sources, who cite a concept from political science that describes the progressive acceptance of ideas that were initially rejected.

The PP will bring to a vote this Wednesday in Congress a text in which it asks to "prioritize access to aid, subsidies and public benefits, as well as access to protected housing and social rent, for people who prove a real, lasting and verifiable connection to the territory, inspired by the principle of national priority". In this way, the popular party affirms, they transfer to the lower house "the soul" of the agreement with Vox in Extremadura. Undoubtedly, this is a relevant move, as Alberto Núñez Feijóo decides to adopt a principle that has historically been linked to the far-right, and especially to French lepenism, despite the reservations expressed by prominent figures in his party such as Isabel Díaz Ayuso or Juanma Moreno Bonilla.
