The majority of battles related to the Francoist legacy are very long. In 2016, Parliament approved the removal of the Francoist monument from the Ebro. In November 2020, the Generalitat announced that the monument would be removed in the summer of 2021. There was a project by architect Antonio López to do so. As with most issues related to the dictatorship, however, the paths are full of obstacles and judicial disputes are prolonged.
