Summer has traditionally been synonymous with disconnection, rest, and time to regain strength. However, in the midst of the digital age, this notion seems to have changed. Nowadays, free time has become a showcase where it seems essential to demonstrate that constant experiences are being lived. If summer was once an opportunity to slow down, now many people feel they have to fill each day with activities, getaways, or trips that are worth sharing on social media. When this doesn't happen, an uncomfortable feeling arises: that of wasting vacation time.

The consumption of digital content in Catalan has skyrocketed: in 2025, views of posts in Catalan have grown by 72% compared to the previous year. Consumption is even growing more than production, which increased but much less, by 31%, according to a study by Accent Obert that ARA has had access to. "Such massive growth is due to the fact that we are in a development process that still has no ceiling. A digital industry in Catalan is being born, and it is in a very clear boom," points out Albert Lloreta, producer and expert at Accent Obert. There are 1,260 active projects in Catalan that have achieved a total of 25 million followers. The number of influencers has grown, but what has grown above all is the continuity and intensity of dedication to digital projects.

The rise of finfluencers –content creators who give advice on finance and investment on social media– has forced the National Securities Market Commission (CNMV) to act. The regulator has made public a review of the activity of nearly 100 of these profiles and the diagnosis is clear: 10% do not comply with current regulations or could be performing personalized advisory tasks without the corresponding authorization.
