The Barcelona-based biotechnology company Peptomyc has closed a funding round of 5.7 million euros with the entry of the Catalan Finance Institute (ICF) into its capital, which has made an investment of 0.7 million, as reported this Tuesday by the Generalitat's public credit agency.

The biotechnology company Peptomyc continues to make progress in developing its cancer drug. Its co-founder, Laura Soucek, has spent decades studying an oncogen involved in the processes that allow a tumor to develop and progress. This oncogen is Myc, a common factor in many cancers that was long considered untouchable, but Soucek created a counterpart to it, Omomyc, with the aim of inhibiting it and causing cancer cells to die.
