The artistic choice foreshadowed a very interesting night to musically celebrate the 50th anniversary of the Grec Festival at the Grec Theatre in Barcelona. And the repertoire that appeared in the program showed special care in the selection of material, with a subtle thread of Greek references, bridges between the different shores of the Mediterranean and Latin America, pacifist determination, and poetic scope (from Zülfü Livaneli to Kavafis, from Aristophanes to Ramon Llull). More than a festive revelry and intoxication, Songs of the Grec. 50 years of music, bridges, and mestizaje was intuited as a serene night, and it was, but with a bunch of unforgettable moments.

"I'm very upset because they didn't let us sing at either of them," says Estrella Morente in a relaxed, almost amused tone, in an interview. The afternoon from Catalunya Ràdio, which aired this Friday. "I'm very surprised, I'm embarrassed," she continues. "We were so eager to sing," she insists. And suddenly her tone turns more serious as she says: "I am respectful, and she hasn't been respectful to me. And now I'm being serious," adds Enrique Morente's eldest daughter, who performs at the Gran Teatre del Liceu on February 15.
