A reckless overtaking maneuver, speeding, or even a slight lapse in concentration behind the wheel can end a motorcyclist's life. Under the slogan "To avoid accidents, anticipate," the Catalan government is launching a new campaign to reduce accidents involving motorcyclists. The initiative aims to raise awareness among motorcyclists and drivers about the importance of protection, prevention, and caution—three key elements for improving road safety. In Catalonia, one in three traffic fatalities is a motorcyclist. The campaign uses fictionalized stories to foreshadow the real-life consequences of common driving imprudence. It focuses on the risky behaviors of motorcyclists, "one of the most vulnerable groups on our roads," according to the Minister of the Interior and Public Safety, Núria Parlon. At the same time, it promotes awareness among all other drivers. The goal is "to reduce accidents and reinforce safe and respectful driving," Parlon emphasizes.
