The Casteller Museum of Catalonia, in Valls, finally opened its doors two years ago, after delays caused by the pandemic and the failed bidding process, which resulted in no offers. Ultimately, it was decided that the museum would be jointly operated by the Valls City Council, the Catalan Government's Department of Culture, and the Tarragona Provincial Council. In any case, the museum, which occupies 2,800 square meters, opened two years ago and has been well received by the public, with 38,000 visitors. During this time, the museum has incorporated a virtual reality experience, Enxaneta 360, which allows visitors to immerse themselves in the Santa Úrsula castellers festival in Plaça del Blat and enjoy it from different perspectives. The museum's construction cost 9 million euros. The museum, located just a few meters from Plaça del Blat, has also served as a cultural hub, hosting book presentations, children's castellers workshops, and radio programs. In total, these free activities attracted an additional 7,000 people. This was also one of the museum's aims, situated in the heart of Valls, an area of the city grappling with the problem of vacant apartments—some of them occupied—owned by large landlords, which are contributing to the abandonment of the city center.
