It is time to say goodbye to our friend Lluís Reverter. He has left us unexpectedly. He leaves a void in the hearts of those of us who have come to love him and appreciate his political and personal virtues. To enter politics and have the good fortune to cross paths with people of Reverter's caliber is priceless. It allows me to say loud and clear that this is what gives politics its true meaning.

Former PSC politician and cultural activist Lluís Reverter Gelabert died early this morning at the age of 82, according to has advanced The NewspaperReverter was Narcís Serra's right-hand man, first as a city councilor in Barcelona and later as director general in the Ministry of Defense. He also served as secretary general of the La Caixa Foundation and was currently a trustee of the Pau Casals Foundation, which was directed by Serra. During his time at the City Hall, between 1979 and 1982, Reverter was responsible for citizen relations, as well as vice president of the Barcelona Municipal Tourism Board and the Trade Fair. From 1982 to 1991, he was director general of Information and Social Relations at the Ministry of Defense and, later, served as secretary general for Coordination and Services at the Spanish Prime Minister's Office.
