When I was little, I helped prepare things in my grandmother's shop, and this family business was a place where everyone could contribute, even a child, no matter how small.

He picks up his phone because one of them asked how old some actress is, and they can't agree. He wants to look it up on Wikipedia. But as soon as he unlocks the screen, he sees that in the group of friends from school someone is congratulating Xevi, who is years old today. In a hurry (he didn't know Xevi was years old today) he also congratulates him. And what the hell, for not being mediocre and settling for a WhatsApp, forwards the song to him Happy Birthday, from Parcheesi, which is very much part of his generation, and they're always joking around. Everyone else immediately answers with applause and laughter. His mother, he sees now, asked him if he'd go to lunch, but he can't. "No, Mom!" he writes. Because he realizes he should have said it earlier. Mom, with her peculiar spelling, tells him she's sorry, that she'd prepared what he likes best. He smiles as he reads this. He's pleased by the tenderness this woman exudes. He sends her a heart and a meme, since he knows his mother laughs a lot, memes, and he always forwards them to her friends at Imserso (Social Security Institute).
