The victims of the dictatorship have repeatedly, and unsuccessfully, sought justice in Spain. Sant Julià de Ramis attempted to address the issue of the plunder in 2019. The Gironès town council claimed 9,786 Republican pesetas from that era, equivalent to €136,123.26. After the Council of Ministers rejected the request, Sant Julià de Ramis filed an appeal with the Supreme Court, also unsuccessful. With the Democratic Memory Law, passed in 2022, the Caldes de Montbui Town Council hopes to succeed with a new claim. It will not be easy, because while the Spanish government committed to documenting the plunder, the legislation does not specify how the victims can be compensated.

Three people were seriously injured in a fire at a recycling plant in the La Borda industrial park in Caldes de Montbui. The incident occurred around 7:00 a.m. this Friday at the warehouse of Tratamiento de Subproductos Industriales, a company dedicated to industrial recycling. All three are employees of the plant. A series of explosions, heard from the town, caused a fire that spread rapidly throughout the factory and was brought under control two hours later. The injured, as confirmed to Catalunya Ràdio by the mayor of Caldes de Montbui, Isidre Pineda, are three workers who were inside the factory at the time of the accident. All three were transported by the Medical Emergency Service (SEM) to Vall d'Hebron Hospital. One of the injured suffered burns to 20% of his body, and the other two suffered burns to 9% of their body, but in critical areas. The Catalan Fire Service (Bombers de la Generalitat) brought the flames under control around 9:00 AM, but were still working mid-morning, pouring water on the fire. They also had to remove pallets and other materials because the fire threatened to spread to adjacent warehouses. The emergency services plan to maintain a presence until nightfall to fully extinguish the blaze.

The Roman baths of Caldes have been studied and searched hundreds of times, but no one had seen two small gold jewels hidden between the tile gaps of the large pool, which is open to the public and where guided tours are organized. Four years ago—the discovery has not been made public to date—during the restoration of the baths, a chain and a pendant representing a phallus were found, a symbol, in ancient Roman times, of fertility and prosperity, as well as protection against adversity. "When the baths were restored in 1959, a mortar was used that we wouldn't use now because it causes a lot of dampness. We have carried out several restorations to eliminate it, and in 2021, a chain emerged from behind this mortar, and a few centimeters away, the phallic-shaped pendant. It had been there for nearly two thousand years," said director of Thermalia, Caldes de Montbui Museum.
