"We are not interested in disposable culture at all –remarked Albert de la Torre, its artistic director, this Monday during the season's presentation–. If we believe a production is extraordinary, it should be possible to see it again. It can't be that we let it die".

Despite knowing firsthand the economic risks of the theater business (so to speak), since they also manage the La Gleva theater, they are now investing enormous amounts of money in a cultural facility with two theaters (one with 200 seats) and a bar. The capacity is important because in Barcelona's theater landscape, there are many small theaters that don't even hold 100 spectators and that have difficulty surviving and limited production possibilities.

When this small space in the Farró neighborhood opened its doors in 2017, it was led by cultural manager, journalist, and theater critic Albert de la Torre, who wanted "to keep the thread of tradition intact" and to bring back to the stage some of the names from his generation or the previous one that he considered important and that he believed had been marginalized. renewal Theatrical. Names like Mario Gas, Angel Pavlovsky, Juan Ollé, and Ramon Simó had to share space with young and emerging companies. When De la Torre fell ill in 2019, his son Daniel, who had just come of age and was working as a ticket seller, took over as director. Now, at 25 and well past the ordeal, Daniel de la Torre is growing the family forming a creative tandem with his father.
