"In a complicated, hostile moment with little hopeful news, this year we want to reclaim the act of celebrating," says the director of Fira Tàrrega, Anna Giribet. The event, one of the most relevant in the world of performing arts in Catalonia, will take place from September 10th to 13th and will host almost sixty shows by established artists and emerging talents. We have chosen 10 that focus on the theme of this 46th edition: the party and the gathering.

And we shouted like sinners in hell. Spurred on by Albert Vidal, transformed into Dante, and after a sincere and enthusiastic applause, the audience engaged in an exercise of collective intelligence in a song—modulated by the maestro—that ended with a liberating and excited cry that even knocked him to the ground. It was a fantastic culmination of the journey through the first three cantos of the'Hell of Dante Alighieri, led by a superb rhapsodist possessed by the words of the Tuscan writer.

Fira Tàrrega, one of the most important performing arts events in Catalonia, kicks off this Thursday and runs until Sunday with 54 shows and 10 international companies, in addition to the 28 Catalan companies and 16 from the rest of Spain. The 45th edition of the fair will have nearly 60% of companies performing for the first time and will include some important changes. To start with, the fair is bringing back the inaugural show and doing so with Interference 03 by Marco Salicrú. At the same time, this year's artistic activity will be concentrated in the center of Tàrrega, so spaces like Cal Trepat and the Escola Vedruna will no longer be stages.
