This Wednesday, they achieved another historic milestone: Democrat Eileen Higgins won the Miami mayoral election after three decades of Republican rule, becoming the first woman and the first non-Hispanic person to govern the city. Higgins obtained nearly 60% of the vote, after defeating Republican Emilio T. González, the candidate endorsed by Trump, in the runoff election. González garnered 40.5%. Although the election was officially nonpartisan, Higgins campaigned proudly as a Democrat against González, a former federal official in the Republican administration. The Hispanic vote, which represents nearly 70% of the city's electorate, was key to Higgins' victory and shaped her campaign, in which she criticized Donald Trump's immigration policies. "We're facing rhetoric from elected officials that is very dehumanizing and cruel, especially against immigrant populations," Higgins told the Associated Press after her victory speech. "Miami residents were ready to put an end to it," she added.

The football league will no longer have to perform acrobatics with the television signal to avoid showing the 15-second strike for tired legs of their footballers, who were protesting the decision to hold a match in Miami. Until now, they've shown us plans of the stadium using a drone, or statistics, or a laughing fan in the stands.

If Villarreal-Barça is being played in Florida, it's basically to make money, plain and simple. Like the Super Cup in Arab lands. The amount of money the Saudis are paying is so outrageous that everyone ends up bowing their heads, because the money reaches every club. And deep down, we all have a price. After the Saudis, now it's Miami's turn.Welcome to Miami.", as Will Smith sang in a pretty bad song, but one that was catchy.

Well, some lose it and others sell it. Thousands of people live resigned. "It's what it is," they say. "It's the way things are, nothing can be done," they add. "It's against everything, you're the people who always say No", they respond if you question them. Whenever people with power make a controversial decision, they defend themselves like this: don't say No, accepts that it's a natural evolution. What a shame.
