Activist Greta Thunberg was arrested Tuesday in London for demonstrating in support of several activists from the Palestine Action organization who have been on hunger strike in prison for 50 days. Thunberg was arrested, according to police, under anti-terrorism legislation for carrying a sign that read, "I support Palestine Action prisoners. I oppose genocide." The Swedish activist was arrested during a protest outside the Aspen Insurance building, which insures Elbit Systems, an Israeli-owned arms manufacturer and one of the country's main weapons producers. During the protest, in which two demonstrators sprayed red paint on the insurance company's building, Thunberg and the other protesters were supporting pro-Palestinian activists on hunger strike to demand the closure of Elbit.

When a woman is the protagonist of an event, public discourse will focus on her body and her psychology, as an emanation at the service of male fantasy. Categorizing women as "monstrous" is a strategy of distortion of the facts and classic misogyny. In the same week, Donald Trump has called Greta Thunberg "crazy," "troublemaker," "angry," "enraged," and the top brass of thealt-right Catalan dedicated to Eva Piquer, who has presented her book Defamation, adjectives like "weak" or "furious." Why do they find an angry woman so threatening? Why this gesture of infantilizing women as if they weren't sovereign over their actions? The angry woman is an uncontrollable woman, insubordinate to the leader or the military logic of control. The angry woman organizes her arguments from strength and discourse, not from the attributes traditionally associated with women, such as compassion, discretion, or sentimentality.

President Trump is pressuring Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu to end the Gaza war, among other reasons because he is convinced he deserves the Nobel Peace Prize. He boasted of having ended more than seven armed conflicts around the world and is convinced he can end the Palestinian conflict, "which has lasted 3,000 years." To begin with, if you look at the list Trump himself released of resolved conflicts, you will see that some are still active and others are more like trade and investment agreements from companies friendly to the president, who thinks more in terms of business than peacemaking.

On the Catalan morning radio show, which I listen to constantly and unfaithfully, the news programs cut to Donald Trump talking about Greta Thunberg, now a topical topic. As usual, we hear the voice of the dubber—usually the journalist himself, the one "playing" Trump—starting a little later than the original voice cut, allowing us to hear it in English, in the background, while he translates it for us. On this occasion, Trump is saying that the girl is very angry and should go seek professional help. It's a delightful way we generally have these days to say that a person is crazy.

It's a shame that this fleet, with Greta Thunberg and Ada Colau on board, had to return to port due to rough seas, but a shipwreck wouldn't have been very edifying. It's understandable that they wanted the ship to appear in the photo, to try to stir consciences (a completely useless gesture), and that's why, I suppose, they didn't abort the mission from the beginning. The intention is good. The cause of Gaza is, at this moment, a planned genocide, effectively starving adults and children to death (I'm not mentioning animals because, unwittingly, I already know that the luckiest ones have been eaten, as in every place).
