Subaru has never been a mass-market brand or one that has ever topped the sales charts. The Japanese brand has always been famous for its all-wheel-drive cars and its history of rally competition, with glorious duels at the end of the last century and legendary drivers like Colin McRae and Spaniard Carlos Sainz. But, little by little, Subaru has lost ground in the European market, although it remains strong in the American and Asian markets.
