At least five people have died this Wednesday and sixteen more have been injured in a fire in an apartment building in the city of Antwerp, Belgium. According to the Belgian police, more than 200 people lived in the building, which has now been evacuated, although it is not known how many people were inside at the time the fire broke out. The mayor, Els Van Doesburg, specified that the lives of none of the injured are in danger. The local fire department received the alert at 9:53 a.m., reporting a fire of "high intensity" in a ten-story apartment building located in the Linkeroever neighborhood.

A 69-year-old woman died this Wednesday morning in a house fire that burned down a third floor apartment in the Castellassa passageway in Terrassa (Vallès Occidental). The Generalitat Fire Department received the alert at 6:19 a.m. and immediately activated five units: three water trucks, a ladder truck, and a coordination and command vehicle. However, upon arrival, they found the fire already fully developed.

Two women have died, one has been critically injured, and six other people have suffered minor injuries in a fire at a nightclub in Bellpuig (Urgell), according to the Catalan police (Mossos d'Esquadra) and the Generalitat fire brigade. The report of a fire at the Estrellas club, next to the N-II highway, was received at around 9:30 a.m. on Saturday. Shortly after, at around 10 a.m., just a few meters from the burning building, a man was fatally run over at the Bellpuig train station as he attempted to cross the track at an unauthorized crossing.
