The British fund Cap Capital will be the owner of the productive unit of the Barcelona-based bridal wear company Pronovias, which had entered into receivership, an operation resolved by Commercial Court number 9 of Barcelona, as reported by the Catalan company in a statement. This new phase aims at the American market, where Pronovias wants to increase its presence, as well as strengthen its positioning in Europe and introduce new technologies and artificial intelligence. Cap Capital's offer retains 552 Pronovias employees, of which 446 are in Spain. For now, the new ownership has already chosen the person who is to bring order to the company to relaunch it.

Since Alberto Palatchi Ribera sold Pronovias to BC Capital in 2017 for 550 million euros, the company has not stopped accumulating losses. So much so that it ended up declaring voluntary bankruptcy on May 18. This after passing through more hands: in 2022, after five years of red numbers, it ended up owned by the creditor funds led by Bain (90%) and MV Credit (10%), with whom the company has reached insolvency.

Pronovias begins a new phase with the fund Cap Capital as owner, which is the one that has been chosen in the selection process by the commercial court number 9 of Barcelona. The British fund was the last to enter the bidding for the company founded by the Palatchi family, which was immersed in insolvency proceedings.
