Gracie Abrams at Cruïlla won't let professionals take her picture. Al Primavera, Charlie XCX, and Sabrina Carpenter also had them banned: if you wanted a photo, it had to be supplied by their team. Guns N' Roses? Same. The Offspring, despite coming from punk backgrounds, contractually demanded that they only be photographed in full-length, lest any wrinkles be seen. As if Iggy Pop wasn't still doing the magnificent iguana on stage at almost eighty years old and with more skin folds than a raisin. Robbie Williams makes them sign a contract according to which they automatically transfer the photographs they take of his concerts for a pound: if he likes an image for merchandising, it's his for that insulting compensation. Ben Harper goes further and also contractually requires them to be released for free. Furthermore, their manager must approve them before publishing them.

According to data from the UK Music Association, there is a clear imbalance, with the touring giants taking the lion's share. And, more or less, the same is true of the big festivals, which, willingly or not, threaten the smaller ones. Everyone has heard of Glastonbury, Isle of Wight, Boardmasters, Reading, Leeds, and Creamfields. But does anyone even know what the Elderflower Fields Festival, the Standon Calling Festival, or Waterworks are?

The promoter decided to organize the festival after being diagnosed with advanced cancer. "It's a festival born from the heart and gratitude. I wanted to thank life and the people for having been privileged to have been born where I was born and to have lived where I live. The festival has given me life," he told ARA in June two years ago. He pulled it off against his family's advice, who believed that what she had to do at the time was worry about her health. But when the family understood her absolute determination to pull off the festival two months later, from the very beginning, her eldest daughter, Mireia, was unconditionally by her side—as was the rest of the family—and now, at 27, she is the one who follows in her footsteps.
