In 1992, Eli Maragall scored the goal that gave the Spanish men's field hockey team the gold medal at the Barcelona Olympic Games. Thirty-four years later, her life has little to do with that moment of glory. "I am a totally normal person," she explains to ARA. She works at a travel agency that she founded herself in 2001 and which celebrates its 25th anniversary this year. She designs trips and takes clients all over the world. And on the street, almost no one recognizes her.

Marc Miralles (Terrassa, 1997) and Álex Alonso (Santander, 1999) make a good team. One is more reflective and the other has more flair. They may seem different but they share many things. Under 30 years old, both are the captains of the Spanish field hockey team. A responsibility in a sport where, often, the captains are part of established hockey dynasties. Catalan families like the Tubau, Amat, or Freixa have produced three or four generations of international players. This is not the case for these two players. Marc's father played water polo in Terrassa. And the Alonsos used the facilities of a sports club in Santander without wanting to compete. Nevertheless, their sons fell in love with field hockey.

From the stands of the Josep Marquès stadium, he points to a chalet behind the benches, on the other side of the pitch. "We were there dancing because we had won a league title with Atlètic Terrassa. I looked at my watch and realized it was time to go to Mass. I must have been terrible [due to the alcohol I'd consumed], but I went," Litus Ballbé (Terrassa, 1985) recalls to ARA. "It wasn't an obligation; I felt like it. I was still wearing my tracksuit; I must have smelled bad, so I went to the back of the church," he continues.
