A mess. With public money and vulnerable students. This is what teachers, workers, coordinators and students from the Escola d'Hostaleria de Castelldefels have denounced. Forged signatures, obsolete material and spaces, off-the-books payments... these are the various irregularities that the Servei d'Ocupació de Catalunya (SOC) is investigating. Over the last two weeks, four inspections have been carried out and dozens of people interviewed to determine if there has been a misuse of public funds granted to the institution.

One. Two. Three. These are the sounds that echoed through a residential area of Castelldefels, in the Baix Llobregat region, on Monday afternoon. It was approximately 4:00 PM. In broad daylight, a man was walking along Doctor Fleming Street when, suddenly, another man approached him and shot him three times. He did so at close range, without exchanging a word. This is the account of a witness who saw the incident, which has been collected by the Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police), who are now investigating this latest crime in Catalonia. First, neighbors and then paramedics tried unsuccessfully to resuscitate the man, who ultimately died. According to ARA, the man was originally from Montenegro. The police had no prior information about him. This suggests that he had only recently arrived in the country and that the shooting may have been an execution. After firing the shots, the perpetrator fled on foot, most likely through a park located next to the crime scene. It all happened on a sidewalk, next to some dumpsters, in a residential area with a few businesses. "I heard three shots. I thought they were firecrackers. But when my colleagues went outside, they saw the victim on the ground. And there was no trace of the shooter," a worker recounted. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) tried to cordon off the crime scene and even deployed a helicopter, but so far they haven't found the gunman.
