The Honda Civic Type R will bid farewell to Europe at the end of 2025 due to the impossibility of homologating the CO₂ emissions limit set by the European institutions starting next year. Its powerful 2.0 VTEC gasoline engine with 330 hp and 420 Nm of torque, paired with a six-speed manual transmission and a front-wheel drive layout, is not designed to comply with European emissions limits. The current generation of the Civic (the sixth) has only been on the market for about three years, although the Civic is already a well-known vehicle, with more than 30 years of continuous presence in Europe, and has always stood out for its Type R sport versions, designed to compete with the two great European sports compacts, the Volkswagen Golf R and the Renault.
