The week is off to a bad start for the government and for all of us who believe that governing a country with the 2023 budget is not serious. Everything has come to a head this weekend. We had reached Friday with the agreement between the Government and the Commons to approve the budgetsAll that remained was the arithmetically indispensable "yes" from Esquerra, and on Friday morning, President Illa made what is now called "a gesture" to Esquerra: he stated his commitment to one of Esquerra's conditions: that the Generalitat collect 100% of the personal income tax. And he put it this way:

Today, the financing model presented by Vice President Montero, which stems from an agreement with the Republican Left of Catalonia (ERC), will be approved by the Council for Fiscal and Financial Policy (comprised of the Minister of Finance and the regional ministers of Economy). However, its approval does not mean it will be implemented immediately, as it will now have to be negotiated in Congress with all parties, and, as you know, the proposal currently lacks the necessary votes. The People's Party (PP) and Vox are fundamentally opposed to the system, while Together for Catalonia (Junts) believes it falls short.

The President of the Generalitat (Catalan government) personally presents the proposal for the expansion of El Prat Airport. It's consistent: Illa is a president aligned with conventional economic growth, he shares the same political affiliation as the Spanish government and the CEO of Aena, and The expansion of El Prat was included in the electoral programme and have more international connections.
