The visit that affected me most was to the youth detention center, which used to be in Trinitat. It was an old, dilapidated facility with thick metal doors. Just being inside already caused me a certain anxiety, and I find the work of the professionals who go there every day admirable. When the buildings are new, like Lledoners or Puig de les Basses, the space is more sterile and the architecture less prison-like, but the knot in your stomach is still there. Especially as you walk in and the doors close behind you, and you put yourself in the shoes of those who never get out. I say the youth detention center affected me the most because it was full of kids who seemed very familiar. In fact, I found some from my neighborhood, who gave me greetings for my brothers, and some didn't want to attend the event because they were embarrassed to be recognized. Among those children were likely career criminals, real movie villains, but I got the impression that many were there because of bad choices, getting involved in illegal activities without really considering the long-term consequences of their actions. The boys from my street who ended up in prison—I knew them—were products of poverty, of parental neglect (boys were street kids and girls were homebound, so the boys were the ones who suffered from sexism), and, in many cases, of drug addiction. I remember Musta, for example, affable and friendly, whose name I came across one day in a short note fromHe 9 NewHe had died of an overdose.

So, on Sunday... Évole's thingThere were higher expectations. In the midst of his book tour, the former Duke of Palma sat down in an armchair in a bourgeois-style apartment to tell his story. The program was structured in two parts. The first hour, "The face", focused on the character's rise, and a second one, "The cross", which began from the moment Urdangarin went from being"the ideal son-in-law in Spanish chorizo"

From a strictly formal point of view, with a single continuous shot, never stopping the camera, the program is technically ambitious. And a risk that many professionals wouldn't take, because editing can improve the interviews and also improve them as interviewees. On the other hand, the long take requires a lot of rehearsal for the technique to work. And all rehearsal involves a certain theatricality. For example: Basté, at the end of the conversation, regrets having left a book in the car. He even puts his head on the table to express how upsetting it is to have to stop the interview to go and get it. Then, in the subsequent broadcast about the making-ofWe discovered that this supposed "oversight" was planned and rehearsed. In other words, the interview contained a fictional element. Basté claims he was allowed to do so, but that's not true. And this raises doubts about the veracity of everything that happens. Even the guest had choreographed his walk through the dining room to react to the pause. That is to say, the single-shot sequence isn't always a guarantee of transparency. It's also artificial.

In a conversation with journalist Jordi Basté, Urdangarin explained that he was devastated. "Materially, I lost almost everything I had. And then there's a very big loss, which is one of the loves of my life, Cristina. It was a very hard time and we had a very difficult time. It had consequences and it's painful; she's a woman I love very much," he said. The former brother-in-law of the king was convicted of embezzlement, abuse of power, fraud, two tax offenses, and influence peddling. He was incarcerated in the Brieva prison in Ávila, in a women's prison.
