Barcelona City Council has been updating its image for 15 years. Now, the council has decided to make public its new corporate identity, that is, the graphic signature it will use from now on in all its communications. The objective of the new image, explain municipal sources, is "to put the city at the center, with the word Barcelona and accompanied by the city's official coat of arms at the end to "preserve the connection between the institution and the officialdom, but with a fresher and more versatile visual system that seeks to strengthen the bond with the citizens," they argue.

From yellow to sepia, from lilac to maroon, from turquoise to blue, and from light yellow to mustard yellow. The graphic designs of many political parties have been on fire over the last year: four parties (ERC, Comuns, Junts, and the CUP) have reworked their graphic identity. In the case of the junteros, the changes were limited to the color and the election campaign, as well as some specific events afterward, but the three left-wing parties have also redesigned their logo and typography, establishing them as the new party brand. These modifications respond to the political context and, above all, to organic movements within the parties.

"Everything is open to debate," the CUP stated just before beginning its refounding process. Everything except the principles that govern the CUP, which are based on the concepts of independence, socialism, feminism, and the Catalan Countries, they clarified. The recent setbacks at the polls, in which they were eliminated from three of the four capital cities in the municipal elections, lost representation in Congress, and were left with four deputies in Parliament, forced the anti-capitalist party to open a thorough debate to once again establish itself as an alternative in a context of demobilization that is working against it. And so it did.
