The heat arrives, and with it the peak months for tourism in Catalonia. This year the season kicks off after a record first quarter. Catalonia received the highest number of visitors in this period in the last decade between January and April, and it's also the year they have spent the most.

In 2023, Catalonia was the third-most visited region in the European Union, based on the number of overnight stays. Only the Canary Islands and the Adriatic coast of Croatia recorded a higher number of overnight stays in tourist establishments in their respective territories, according to data from Eurostat, the statistical agency of the European Commission.
