The trial was suspended due to his absence and has been rescheduled for June 30. Hamlyn, who claims that three Civil Guard officers linked to a competing businessman have unfairly involved him in the legal case, is the man who participated in the meeting with Leire Díez from Dubai, in the United Arab Emirates. As he explained on Friday in a conversation with the newspaper The Mail, cannot leave the country because he has an outstanding debt of 5,000 euros. "People think I'm loaded, but I don't even have enough to buy a pencil. Banks won't even give me a credit card, only debit cards," he stated in this interview, in which he also confessed that all the promises he made to Leire Díez to provide compromising information about UCO officials were "lies." "I blew them," he says.
