The last broadcast of The TV family was as pathetic as the first. This brings to a close one of the most painful and grotesque episodes of Spanish public television. Its protagonists took it with a sense of humor, as had already happened with the rampoines of Save me when they were fired from Telecinco. They turned the dismissal into a journey to the afterlife: "Some of its members go on a journey towards immortality", they assured. And they announced sarcastically that they were leaving with a ritual never seen on television. "We go to the Egyptian style, one of the ancient civilizations, the basis of culture and knowledge". To the set they added some enormous papier-mâché sarcophagi and appealed to the protection of the gods and to a new death in order to be reborn. But the most vulgar set on television, which cost approximately 365,000 euros, has only been the temple of bad taste.
