A few days ago, the weekly Charlie Hebdo claimed that the English "perhaps" had found their Pelicot case, in reference to Gisèle Pelicot, the French woman who in 2024 publicly revealed that she was raped by a hundred men while she was unconscious, after having been repeatedly drugged by her husband over the years. The satirical publication thus focused on a very similar drama that took place in Stockport, one of the commuter towns south of Manchester, which became partially known in November 2025. On October 19, a major trial begins against eleven men accused of raping a woman while she was drugged. In the Pelicot trial, the public prosecutor brought 51 rapists before the court, including the husband.

The Civil Guard has arrested a 32-year-old man for his alleged involvement in the gang rape of a 14-year-old girl in a town in the Vall d'Albaida region. This brings the number of arrests to seven, four of whom are already in prison. After testifying, the Ontinyent Court of First Instance granted the provisional release of this seventh alleged assailant. According to the Valencian High Court, none of the parties involved in the proceedings requested the detainee's imprisonment.
