These are some of the effects of the wind that has been affecting northern Spain since early Sunday morning, although the wind has been gradually weakening for several hours. This was confirmed by Civil Protection in a message on social media. In Ripollès, a tree that fell on a high-voltage power line abruptly left 2,900 customers without electricity. Endesa is currently working to remove it. This is not an isolated incident; more than 5,000 customers experienced problems in other areas of Girona due to various issues affecting a total of seven medium-voltage lines. The company "has reinforced its operational teams on the ground, as well as the resources at the control center" to respond to the incidents, which are mainly caused by fallen branches, trees, or other debris on the power lines.

It feels like we're living in a disaster movie, with everything unfolding in a chain reaction, like those lives that can't seem to get back on their feet. All we needed was the wind. It arrived with a warning, though, complete with an alarm, and when you hear it in the street amidst all the other alarms, it feels like a contemporary concert. It's come to assert itself amidst so much inclement weather, as if we'd been missing it. The wind, a bothersome phenomenon when it's just a breeze. The wind, which brings no answers and bursts forth with the force of someone who has no arguments. This aggressive wind, like an authoritarian leader around the world. The wind, which doesn't love trees. The noise of the wind, which keeps us awake and seeps into our brains as if a ghost wanted to speak to us. No, not that wind now. We're all too tired. But we're pinning our hopes for calm on the anticyclone that's about to arrive, they say, and that will bring a weather respite. Because you can't please everyone, and too much rain is usually harmful. They say there will be days of sunshine in a row. Perhaps we should also set an alarm to help us get all the vitamin D we're lacking. Although it's also on sunny days that everything is laid bare and the disaster becomes clearer. Just in case someone is unaware that Catalonia has been paralyzed for years and that the wind is the last thing to enter through the door. This is what happens when you leave it open. They already told us that it's wise to be careful with the draftsIn any case, you don't need to be particularly esoteric to see that everything is a sign, not very subtly, warning us that we're at the limit of too many things and that it's time to start moving in the right direction. With the wind, we must wait for it to stop, but many other situations are within human control and can be resolved.

He imagined a "hurricane" when he saw the Generalitat's emergency warnings"It's windy," he remarks resignedly, because today he has far fewer customers and can't display as much fruit at the entrance of his shop for fear it will blow away. The owner of a nearby gym is also annoyed because a worker told him this morning that he wouldn't be coming in. That it was too windy to leave the house. He complains because the employee doesn't live far from the gym.

Following the success of the first edition, Viento is an initiative promoted by the Department of Tourism of the Vandellòs and L'Hospitalet del Infante City Council with the aim of highlighting one of the most characteristic elements of the municipality: the wind. The wind provides not only as a natural resource but also as a source of experiences. It allows us to enjoy activities such as sailing, windsurfing, playing with stars... With this festival we want to reclaim the wind as an element of identity and share this celebration with everyone," highlights the Councilor for Tourism, M. Elidia López. (in Coll de Balaguer square, opposite the seafront promenade) and will offer a day full of free activities related to wind and creativity. 13 hours), as well as a wind garden that will be installed on the sand of Arenal beach, where the wind will give life to hypnotic structures. Wing foil displays

One of the main novelties of this edition is the incorporation of exhibitions of wing foil (led by Amar la Mar Surf Club) and paddleboarding (led by Club BKT), disciplines that harness the power of the wind to offer adrenaline-filled shows. wing foil, in particular, is an emerging water sport that combines elements of surfing, windsurfing, and kite surfing. It involves riding a board equipped with a hydrofoil (foil) while operating an inflatable wing with your hands, allowing you to rise and glide over the surface in a fluid and exciting way. Sardana dance open to everyone. Throughout the day, there will also be traditional games, organized by the Federation of Sports and Traditional Games of Catalonia, designed to ensure that children and adults have a good time. food truck which will sell drinks and food throughout the day, and will raffle off professional stars among the star workshop participants.
