As is tradition, the event brought together at the MNAC representatives from sponsoring companies, institutions, and celebrities from the social, cultural, and political world of Barcelona and Catalonia to rally for a common cause: to raise funds to finance the research of the Fundació Lluita contra les Infeccions, an internationally renowned institution in clinical research of infectious diseases. The initiative, whose alma mater is Doctor Bonaventura Clotet, president of the foundation, has once again demonstrated its intact power of attraction and its fundraising capacity, which reached 838,769 euros, a very notable figure that makes this solidarity gala the most powerful in Spain.

Coming from all walks of life, the nearly 800 attendees—many well known to the general public—wanted to collaborate with Dr. Bonaventura Clotet in his annual fundraiser to finance research projects against infectious diseases, which are currently the fourth leading cause of death from disease worldwide. Over the course of these fifteen years, Dr. Clotet's gala has evolved from raising funds solely for AIDS to focusing on the wide range of conditions that fall under the heading of infectious diseases. The gala raised nearly one million euros. The final tally was €978,456, a figure that exceeds last year's collection of €815,000.
