Without losing glamour or its power to attract attendees, the People in Red gala reached its fifteenth edition this Monday, a remarkable milestone that was once again celebrated by bringing together a long list of celebrities for dinner in the Oval Room of the MNAC (National Museum of Contemporary Art). Coming from all walks of life, the nearly 800 attendees—many well known to the general public—wanted to collaborate with Dr. Bonaventura Clotet in his annual fundraiser to finance research projects against infectious diseases, which are currently the fourth leading cause of death from disease worldwide. Over the course of these fifteen years, Dr. Clotet's gala has evolved from raising funds solely for AIDS to focusing on the wide range of conditions that fall under the heading of infectious diseases. The gala raised nearly one million euros. The final tally was €978,456, a figure that exceeds last year's collection of €815,000.
