A man murdered his 10-year-old son early this morning in the municipality of Arona, in southern Tenerife, and left his partner and the child's mother critically injured. According to the EFE news agency, the Civil Guard shot and killed the man after he threatened officers with a machete. The 26-year-old woman remains hospitalized on the Canary Island. Sources from the Civil Guard, cited by the same agency, explained that the crime occurred around 1:00 a.m. at a home in the town of Cabo Blanco. Neighbors alerted the Civil Guard to a disturbance at the residence. When officers arrived, they found the boy's body and the woman with injuries to her limbs. The attacker, 35, was carrying a large machete, which he used to stab the child and his mother, and was shot dead after resisting arrest. In fact, he even injured a Civil Guard officer, though the officer's condition is not life-threatening.

The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have arrested four men for their alleged involvement in the death of a young man who was stabbed to death on September 30th in Barcelona. The Mossos d'Esquadra (Catalan police) have reported that the four detainees are between 19 and 30 years old and were arrested in two phases as the investigation progressed. Two of the men were arrested in October, and the other two were arrested this week, on Wednesday, November 12th, and Thursday, November 13th. Two of those arrested have been remanded in custody without bail, while the other two have been released with precautionary measures. The victim was found on the building's landing after suffering multiple stab wounds and blows. As ARA has learned, the victim was not a resident of the building and arrived on a motorcycle just minutes before the fatal attack. It appears he was accompanied. The police investigation also suggests that the young man had gone to the blog to purchase jewelry. He was carrying a significant amount of cash, and the transaction ended in the worst possible way: the sellers kept his money and are also being investigated as the suspected perpetrators of his death.

One person died this Monday morning and two others were injured, one of them seriously, in an explosion at a recycling plant in Sant Julià de Llor and Bonmatí, in Gironès, according to the Generalitat Fire Brigade. The mayor of the municipality, Elena Ribas, explained that the accident occurred when "the boiler of one of the furnaces exploded." The factory is located about 60 meters from residential buildings, and the nearest neighbors heard the explosion "and their windows shook," she said in statements collected by ACN.
