In early June, when the heat arrives, the shepherd Víctor Rojas Orcalla undertakes a long journey on foot from Cap de Creus to Alta Garrotxa, guiding a flock of nearly 700 sheep along the traditional transhumance routes. He takes them to the green meadows below Comanegra, the peak of Les Bruixes, and the pass of Sant Marc, where they spend the entire summer sheltered from the high temperatures. The shepherd cares for them in the mountains for three or four months, in the company of nine dogs, and spends most nights in a small, well-equipped modular hut at the base of the summit. Further down, in the village of Rocabruna, Rojas also has a room at the Bocabartella farmhouse where the caretakers welcome him whenever needed.

Every year, after Saint John's Day, at the beginning of summer, a group of about twenty adolescents between 12 and 16 years old spend a week in the mountains, in Alta Garrotxa, accompanied by a team of monitors specialized in adventure sports. They go to the Ribelles camps, near the Sant Aniol river, about a three-hour walk from the Sadernes parking lot. During all these days, they do a lot of outdoor activities and live completely isolated, disconnected from their mobile phones, in tents, eating under a tent and without showers or toilets. This 2026, the camps celebrate their 40th anniversary and on July 4th they will organize a big party with a popular rice dish and live music for over 70 guests.

Bernat's growing online community follows the daily progress of his major project: renovating a ruined farmhouse in a remote part of Alta Garrotxa and becoming completely self-sufficient.
