Mishima completed their first Olympic cycle of La Nit de les Roses this Wednesday. It has been four years since they were the first band to perform at the historic La Paloma venue in the heart of Barcelona's Raval after its renovation, and they did so by proposing a pre-Sant Jordi party that fuses words and music, as befits the most literary band on the contemporary Catalan scene. As Manuel de Pedrolo said, if they are roses, they will bloom. And these have burst forth proudly: if seeing them chanting Mishima's songs and the applause for the writers who acted as openers are the barometer, this is a tradition that has come to stay. 

The Mishimas completed their first Olympic cycle of La Nit de les Roses this Wednesday. The tradition began in April 2023, as a musical and poetic preamble to Sant Jordi. Is The Night of the RosesA special concert by the group Mishima and several poets will take place at La Paloma in Barcelona. The 2026 concert will be on April 22nd, and in addition to the group, four prominent voices of Catalan literature from various generations will perform: Eva Baltasar, Pol Guasch, Carlota Gurt, and Biel Mesquida.

"We are three people from Vic who have been closely linked to the Mercat since we were very young, as audiences, as musicians, and now as artistic directors," explains Joan Rial, one of the three new artistic directors of the Vic Live Music Market (MMVV). Rial, along with Jordi Casadesús and Rubén Pujol, won the competition to take charge of the strategic fair. The three detailed this Wednesday the program for the 37th edition of the MMVV, which will take place from September 17 to 21. It will open with a performance by Andalusian artist Rocío Márquez and will include some seventy concerts by The Ludwig Band, Maria Arnal, Mazoni, Sidonie, Maika Makovski, Hadas, Ferran Palau, Biznaga, Lorena Álvarez, Triquell, 31 Hunger and Ouineta, in addition to the premiere of Durruti, I love you, a musical by Guillem Caballero and writer Tuli Márquez about the anarchist leader Buenaventura Durruti (1896-1936).

In a Paloma room endowed with romantic character thanks to a light purple mist. The Night of the Roses Promoted by Mishima, this event has reached its third edition, confirming the evening as one of the new Sant Jordi traditions in Barcelona. The music and poetry festival attracted couples, groups of friends, and especially fans of David Carabén's band. The singer acknowledged at the start of the evening that he could spot familiar faces in the audience. "I recognize many of you, and I know you've seen us a bit too often. It's nice that you're coming today, since Barça is also playing," said Carabén, unable to avoid mentioning the club he loves, which was playing against Mallorca that evening.
