He's come to visit his family after a very intense year in Finland. Few believed he could make it. But with a fearless style and an extremely attacking mentality, 91 goals in 38 official matches, Ivan Piñol (1982) has overcome financial difficulties to achieve an unexpected promotion. Five years after being relegated, Turun Palloseura will once again compete in the Veikkausliiga, the top tier of Finnish football. It's been intense, but after many obstacles, he has found success in a country that has always welcomed him and embraces his courage. "Football is about emotions, and the greatest emotions arise when goals are celebrated. If we wanted to make some noise, we had to play rock 'n' roll. Attack, attack, and attack again," he says.

Not so many years ago, the Nordic country was an example of what are known as... countries frugal and one of the EU's most fiscally disciplined partners. Now things have changed, and the country's public debt is projected to reach 90% next year, almost 50% higher than in 2019. The public deficit has also risen this year to 4.5% of GDP, a figure higher than the 3% of GDP tolerated by Brussels.

This is what has happened to Päivi Räsänen, a member of the Finnish Parliament for the Christian Democratic Party since 1995 and Minister of the Interior from 2011 to 2015. The case has been dragging on since 2019, and she has been tried twice, receiving an acquittal. But just last October 30, the matter reached the highest court, the Supreme Court, from which a verdict is now awaited.

In recent years, the construction of this type of infrastructure, which is key to the functioning of the internet, has boomed in the Nordic country, thanks to access to low-cost electricity, good connectivity, and a cold climate that allows servers to be cooled. However, data centers also raise important questions about the security of the data they store, their energy consumption, and the low economic impact they generate for the site that hosts them.

Do you really think Janne wants a woman who makes her own decisions?", reproaches her sister Maya (Amanda Jansson) in a moment ofMaya's destiny, directed by Finnish filmmaker and actress Tiina Lymi. Winner of the Best Film Award at the BCN Film Fest 2024, this film, which adapts the first installment of the renowned pentalogy by writer Anni Blomqvist, is, therefore, a vindication of women's strengths. In the key of a romantic and domestic epic, and with a very academic narrative spirit, Lymi embellishes her version of the literary classic with the exquisite use of the Stormskerry Island landscape to accompany the challenges and adversities Maya faces, from youth to old age.
