For inexplicable reasons, this man's presence on camera boosts ratings. His ability to stimulate the audience figures is baffling, yet programs bring him on as a guest when their ratings are low. Revilla, a demagogue intoxicated with himself, inserts himself wherever it suits him. His enthusiasm makes it seem as if he says a lot, but he contributes little. They ask him questions feigning interest in his opinions while he elaborates on a series of theories explained with such certainty that it breeds distrust. He is populism personified.

Miguel Ángel Revilla's relationship with Juan Carlos I is a story of disappointment. The former president of Cantabria (Polaciones, 1943) recounted a few days ago in a media appearance and in other subsequent appearances on television programs, his natural habitat, as the emeritus king, has become the "disappointment" of his life. In tears and visibly hurt, the secretary general of the Regionalist Party of Cantabria (PRC) has accused the emeritus king of "pettiness" for having taken legal action against him, a "commoner" whom the former monarch now accuses of slander, when until recently they had a "close" relationship.

The former president of Cantabria learned the news on Tuesday while playing his first acting role in the filming of a movie by Antonio Resines. And the first reaction was one of "rage" and "anger": "Why me?" he asked this Wednesday at a press conference at the headquarters of the Regionalist Party of Cantabria (PRC). The party's secretary general denied having committed any crime and made it clear that he does not regret his "permanent denunciation" of the emeritus, which he has made in recent years and which he once again reflects on in his latest book: "He is harsh with the king, but he deserves it," he said.

The emeritus king has hired one of the lawyers of Isabel Díaz Ayuso's boyfriend to take legal action against Miguel Ángel Revilla, former president of Cantabria, a member of the regional parliament for the PRC (Republican Revolutionary Party), and a regular guest on programs for various media outlets. The current monarch's father accuses her of having "seriously slandered" him in public statements made between May 2022 and January 2025. According to a statement released by lawyer Guadalupe Sánchez, these are "insulting, defamatory, and opprobrious expressions that violate human rights."
