In a joint operation, police forces freed 162 victims in different parts of Spain and made around thirty arrests. Although the group was based in the Valencian Community, it had begun to expand to other territories, including Catalonia.

"An operation of that magnitude is not at all common in Gràcia," says Carla, a policewoman at the police station in this district. It was her second day of training and, along with a colleague, they decided to chase a car that had tried to evade the police operation. Inside, they recovered 17 packages valued at €165,000 on the black market. The discovery has become the hashish intervention The biggest incident in Barcelona this year.

They identified 1,635 criminals, with a total of 4,023 criminal records. And in seven hours, I read, they identified and arrested "up to thirty people, with a total of 226 criminal records."

According to neighbors, they bought this apartment in the Eixample district, on Calle València, several years ago. They're a couple of Arab origin, and their daughter started attending school this year. A Palestinian flag once flew in the courtyard of their apartment. All the neighbors were stunned when the Civil Guard raided the building this July and arrested the father. The reason? He was obtaining parts to make drones and sending them to Lebanon, specifically to the terrorist group Hezbollah. After serving time in prison, the man returned to the apartment a few months later. Early Tuesday morning, the same scene was repeated: hooded and armed Civil Guard officers smashed the door of the third floor to the ground and arrested the man again.
