The stock of productive foreign direct investment (FDI) in Spain reached 627,795 million euros in 2024, representing an increase of 1.6% compared to the previous year and the consolidation of a decade of uninterrupted growth. "This trend confirms the sustained confidence of international investors in the Spanish economy, as well as the quality of its business environment," highlighted the Ministry of Economy, after learning the updated figures on foreign investment positions for the 2024 fiscal year.

Total gross foreign investment in Catalonia accounts for 16% of the total Spanish state investment, approximately €4.9 billion. This is significantly behind the region of Madrid.
