Ramírez founded El Español a decade ago, he decided to bring with him a court reporter who had been key at El Mundo when he was its director: María Peral. Peral is a journalist with decades of experience in a particularly competitive field in Madrid who started at El País and also worked for Abc, but it was under Ramírez's orders that she excelled. She was the one who published, for example, the document that certified the donation of 65 million euros from Juan Carlos I to Corinna Larsen. Well, this journalist has just published an exclusive that proves the Minister of the Interior, Fernando Grande-Marlaska, wrong, and puts the Spanish Prime Minister, Pedro Sánchez, in a very bad position.

Ramírez (Logroño, 1952) is one of the most influential Spanish journalists of the democratic period and also one of the most controversial. He has now published his second volume of memoirs (You can tell the truth, Planeta), where he defends decisions as controversial as his covers with false accusations against pro-independence leaders.

He has decided to go on the offensive. The latest developments in the case, such as the hiring of mistresses by public companies that they didn't even get to work, they haven't silenced him. Not at all. The now unaffiliated member of Congress, who has always been very active on X, has opted to use social media as a defense strategy. There, he fires left and right at anyone who dares to question him. PP leaders and journalists are his favorite targets.
