The video podcast "Rehearsal Room of the Palau de la Música Catalana" delves into the courage of those who make music, exploring what it means to be a hero or heroine in the creative world. Composer Raquel García-Tomás and writer Jordi Lara discuss past labels and new ways of creating with Richard Strauss and his Hero's Life As a backdrop, a work in which the composer played with this concept, reviewing his biography with large doses of irony.

"The Palau de la Música Chamber Choir is featured on the album every day," asserted Joan Oller, general director of the Palau de la Música. "It was recorded at L'Auditori," added Víctor Medem, his counterpart at the Barcelona music venue. Valentí Oviedo, director of the Gran Teatre del Liceu, chimed in: "Rosalía hasn't sung at the Liceu, but I invite her to come and sing there whenever she wants. I'm not going to let the others down now," he joked.

This is how Palestinian culture manifested itself tonight at a sold-out event at the Palau de la Música. "I'm proud of my city. To see us all here for Gaza and for Palestine," said a visibly moved poet Mohamed Bitari before calling for a moment of silence for all the victims who have lost their lives since the start of the Israeli offensive.

Maria Callís and Manuel Forcano, directors of the Barcelona Poetry Festival, recall this in the prologue to the book that those attending the recital, punctuated by the sound and light landscapes curated by Clara Aguilar, took home after an intense hour and a half in which they were able to delve into the subtle voice of the Romanian. Ana Blandiana, in the irony of the Georgian Shota Iatashvili and also in the enigmatic Anne Carson, one of the great attractions of the evening, who has read a dozen prose poems from the distant Short talks (1992).

Heir to the great masters of European Romanticism, he composed around fifty works of symphonic and chamber music, always displaying an exquisite gift for melodic creativity and a great mastery of orchestration. Qualities that he also transferred to the eighty sardanas that he wrote, all of a high level and very original, key to raising the quality and richness of music for copla. This 2025 the Generalitat celebrates the Garreta Year, coinciding with the double anniversary of the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth and the centenary of his death.
