They are both part of the program of the fifteenth edition of the Cervera Easter Festival, a program that promotes and disseminates classical music made in Catalonia and kicks off on Thursday, April 10. Both, in obviously different ways, will be present at one of the festival's scheduled concerts because, in distant times, they have ended up breaking the mold, a rare trait in their musical genre. "We've scheduled them together because, at different times in the history of music, they stand out for their originality," explains festival director Jordi Armengol.

Heir to the great masters of European Romanticism, he composed around fifty works of symphonic and chamber music, always displaying an exquisite gift for melodic creativity and a great mastery of orchestration. Qualities that he also transferred to the eighty sardanas that he wrote, all of a high level and very original, key to raising the quality and richness of music for copla. This 2025 the Generalitat celebrates the Garreta Year, coinciding with the double anniversary of the 150th anniversary of the composer's birth and the centenary of his death.
